She　was　totally　in　shock　at　that。　&quot；Oh！　That's　so　nice　of　you！&quot；

&quot；She　deserves　it。　She　suffered　so　much　pain　getting　me　out　in　the　world。&quot；　I　replied　with　a　*ile。

&quot；Really；　it's　very　very　nice　of　you　to　do　this。　My　daughter　has　never　done　this　to　me。&quot；　She　continued　while　processing　my　store　credit　card　application；　&quot；even　myself；　I　never　did　this　to　my　mother。&quot；　I　simply　didn't　know　what　to　say　in　reply。

The　other　shop　assistant　was　done　helping　me　with　the　gift　wrap。　She　then　was　told　it　was　a　gift　for　my　mum　for　my　birthday。　She　was　equally　surprised；　&quot；you're　buying　a　gift　for　your　mum　on　your　birthday？　I've　never　heard　of　that。　You're　so　sweet！&quot；

&quot；I　am　just　so　lucky　to　h*e　been　born　on　that　day。　Really　I　should　thank　my　mum。&quot；　They　then　looked　for　a　big　bag　to　put　the　gift　in　so　that　it　wouldn't　get　wet　in　the　rain。　The　second　woman　even　brought　out　some　free　samples　and　g*e　them　to　me　and　said；　&quot；that's　for　your　mum　and　these　are　for　your　birthday。&quot；　We　all　*iled。

這不是我第一次在自己的生日送禮物給媽媽。想想，其實我的生日，對於她的意義更大。她忍受了至少九個月的極度不方便和分娩的巨痛——是她有生以來最痛的痛，來賦予我完整的生命，然後一直為我牽腸掛肚，默默付出，因我喜而更喜，因我悲而更悲。這個特別的日子，實在是因為她才更特別，也是因為她，我會好好珍惜生命。我的生日，送媽媽一份浪漫，也祝她快樂。
